The Malaysian Regional Championship (MRC) Central Region Rd 2 was held on Malaysia's Independence Day. This is the second of a 3 series race for the central region where the top drivers from 4 other regions will do battle at the end of year in grand final race.
The race started off to a sunny day with current national front runners Daniel Law & Kenny Chin leading the pack. However, current MRC Rd 1 Champion, Kelvin Yong (XRAY / FX Engines / Proline / Maxima) had other ideas as he reeled off some fast consistent laps to TQ all 3 heats. In the A Main Finals, the Yong raced over the dusty & bumpy track to win his second MRC title.
My XRAY XB8 was dialed after a few setting changes and I was the only driver to manage 13 laps heats. The track was very dusty and bumpy in the finals but the XB8 took it all in stride. FX Engine ran strong the whole day and finished the finals at 118 C with a pit window of 7-7:30 minutes. Manage to finish the race with a 2 laps lead over 2nd position. Good racing by all racers in A Mains.
